Contestants submitted original sculptures of only 100 bricks or less, and we selected one winner from three age groups. LEt’s GO build winners each received a free two-day, two-night stay near LEGOLAND, Calif., as well as attraction passes for them and their immediate family members. LEGOLAND will display the winning submissions in the park for the entire anniversary year.

Katie Jones
7-9 winner
Christie Miller
3-6 winner

Christie Miller lives with her mother, father, sister and two brothers in Hearst, Texas. Miller, who recently turned 4, says, “When I get big, I want to go to outer space and build a place for people to go and visit. And if the Earth ever gets too hard to live on, we can go to my space place and live there.”

In preparation for her career as an astronaut, Miller built a Mars colony out of LEGOs for the LEt’s GO build contest.

Katie Jones lives with her parents and brother in Berwick, Maine. Even at 9 years old, Jones knows that she wants to teach. It did not surprise anyone that Jones created the ultimate classroom out of LEGOs and submitted it in the LEt’s GO build contest.

“I wanted to build a classroom that would be the perfect place for kids,” says Jones.

Stephen Smith
10-12 winner

Stephen Smith, now 12 years old, has lived in Littletown, Colo., with his parents and two sisters his entire life. During the day, Smith heads off to Littletown Middle School to learn all he can about architecture. Smith’s creativity, desire to build and heart to make a difference inspired him to create replica Twin Towers for his submission in the LEt’s GO build contest.

“Ever since I heard about Sept. 11, I wanted to do something to remember those people who died, and to honor the heroes who died trying to save them,” says Smith. “When I heard about this contest, I knew this was my chance.”
